The wonderfully creative Emma:
I never have to ask Emma to do any art for me - it is a wonderfully creative impulse that cannot be stopped. She draws everything she sees and imagines, anything that captures her interest is found on scraps of paper and in drawing books all over the house. I only rescue a fraction of what she produces. I love the movement she has in her drawings, her ability to see something and draw it from the opposite angle, or twist a neck or leg around at an angle I can barely imagine, never mind draw! Emma just gets a bee in her bonnet and then cannot stop herself, she just has to make sculptures of anything - tin foil disappears, rocks, card, nature objects, hair brushes....she just looks at something and always sees something else in her imagination. Emma has never had any formal art lessons. She has been drawing since she could hold a pencil and before she could write. Joy

Hi, I am Emma- Jane. My favourite animals are horses. I am really good at drawing. I draw everyday. I am 8 years old.
My best movie is Kung Fu Panda, it is so cool - although I skipped the scary parts. I like it because it's about a panda that learns how to fight because it does not want to be a cook but to be a fighter,so he could kill the 'baddy'.
I am in grade 3 for school work. My best computer game is Dogs5. We got a new puppy, his name is Kurumidza. When I am a grown up I don't want to get married, because my brothers tease me and if I get married they would tease me about it.
One day I wish I could get a bird and a snake. This is how I can get a bird...I have to keep my room tidy for 3 months, 3 years??? No 3 months! How do I get a snake? If Jessica wants a snake when she is a grown up I will visit her house and see my snake as she will keep it for me. I love snakes and I have got 3 toy snakes. I just can't stop thinking about them. One day we went to the animal park and I cuddled a python, and everyone else in our family was too scared to touch it. Another day we were travelling in the country and I was desperate for the toilet so we stopped the car and there was a big poisonous Brown Snake there, but I was not afraid. But I hope I never see another Brown Snake again because it could kill me. When Green Tree Snakes lay eggs, they keep sit on their eggs to keep the temperature right. Pet snakes can eat mice. Pythons can even eat a type of deer. Some baby snakes can be very, very dangerous even though they are little. There is a type of snake that is red with stripes on and it is dangerous. And there an orange snake with stripes on that is not dangerous. There is a type of snake that looks a lot like a worm that lives in plant in a pot, which looks just like a worm. Some people might think it is a worm but it is a snake. It is not poisonous and is friendly. I got that from National Geographic, how about that!
One day we built a fort. Some of the fort was made by me.
I hate vegetables. One day when we were at camp,my friend and me said, "there must be something yummy to eat" And my friend said, "vegetables!" And I said, "Yuck"! One day when we was at the camp when we got our food, the man who made the food said, "There is bacon and cheese" And when I got it I only had cheese....ughhhh! I love going camping.
My best day was when we went to Wet n Wild. Sometimes we can go to Aunty Trish's farm and we can cuddle the animals. One day we went on a boat on the river on her property. And one day they got new born kittens, they looked so cute.
My worst thing to do is school work I hate school work because you have to sit there reading and writing and stuff. And it is soooo hard! I would much sit on the couch than sit on the bench, or play outside or go on the computer, or drawing, or playing chess.
One day when I was little I didn't know what Lego was and I got it stuck in my nose and I went to hospital. They put me to sleep and when I woke up there was a plastic thing on my nose and I couldn't breath properly because it was sucking the Lego out of my nose. When I was in my bed at hospital I was calling for Mama but the lady at the hospital said you were out. There was a lady pushing a trolley who said she would take me somewhere and I was so frightened. (note from Mom - I was furious about this as the hospital people did not call me! Long story, cut short! But we were all very traumatised by it)
My best friends are Briony and Libby. One day we kicked a ball over the fence by mistake and there was a big ugly dog there. And it was a dangerous dog. One day Charkie, our cat, nearly got killed by that dog as she ate the dog's food. The dog ran up to her and nearly gobbled her up.
I want to tell you a joke. "What do you have to say if you want vegetables?" You say, "PEAS"
One day we went to the park we made friends with 3 kids. They live right next to the park, only one tree away from the park. Of course not a big tree, just a little tree. We still sometimes see them when we go to the park, we live across the road from the park.
